A Simple Vacation at Home

End of the Summer Music

And this wonderful, highly anticipated summer has come to a close. Normally I would be stoked out of my mind, because when summer ends that means the Fall arrives, but I live in Florida, and we don't get that. So enjoy my last picks of the end of summer jams, and get yourself in a happy fall mood, because come September, we will have some fantastic new posts.

Chris Brown feat. Benny Benassi - Beautiful People

My boyfriend had this song on his ipod and as he was trying to entice me into listening to CB in the car one time he said..."Well this one is all techno-y like how you like"! And then, voila, one of my new favorite songs was born. I would die to dance to this in a large, loud crowd of people. I would also die if the VS Fashion show this year used this song to one of the runways. RIGHT!? It's like perfect for that.

Sultan & Ned Shepard - Call my Name (feat. Nadia Ali) (Spencer Hill Remix)

My dad was playing this song in his car...I had heard the original, and it did absolutely nothing for me, and quite a shame too, because Sultan and Ned Shepard are the guys who remixed 'Call Your Girlfriend' by Robyn that I was so stoked to put up a couple of months ago. BUT THEN I heard this Spencer Hill remix and it was love from there. 1:50 is where it's at, as soon as that drops, I want to be surrounded by sweat, hair and moving limbs.

Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (Benny Benassi Remix)

You know what, it's so nice and refreshing to see classic DJ's collaborating again to produce such a beautiful classical dance tune baby. I'm getting kind of sick of all of these LMFAO type groups (whose beats I always end up loving) and forgetting what real dance music sounds like. I missed Calvin Harris and Benny Benassi's beats, and they always keep it real. Speaking of top notch DJ's, due to Guetta's new album, David Guetta has lost his title as DJ to me. He will now be referred to 'Mainstream Club Hit Producer.' LAME.

The Kills - Cheap and Cheerful (Fake Blood Remix)

The Kills in themselves are pretty rough and raw, but then add a Fake Blood remix to top it off? Oh how illegal! I don't know how they do it but Fake Blood remixes always make me wish I was back in NYC late at night in all black clothing walking down the streets about to kill someone or something, then compressed into a packed rave in the underground seeing nothing but blinding flashes and rolling faces. Those were the days.....

Tonight Only - We Run the Night

This is interesting! It's not something I would normally pull out on my own, but my brother sent it to me, and it totally has that Justice - D.A.N.C.E feel to it, which obviously automatically makes me like it a whole lot. It's a very high strung Aoki sounding type of tune, one that you can only jump and dance extremely crazy to every single time you hear it.

Children.

This entire summer I have been nannying. Like I always do, but for a new family with 8 lovely little children in the south of Florida. I love the kids to death but I am noticing that being around them, and being around some other people, that if I am ever blessed (cursed) with children, I am going to be the worlds biggest disciplinarian.
I know some older children (I call them children because it's sad to think of their age and how not grown up they are) and I am honestly sickened by the way they act. This sense of entitlement they feel, the lack of independence, the smoldering of their parents on them...it's all really sad.
I think about my childhood and the way I was raised, and at the time, of course I thought my parents were out of their minds, and yes, some things could FOR SURE be handled in different ways...but in the long run, I am so glad my parents were strict. I'm glad they forced us to read and shoved every single type of music genre down our throats. I'm glad we got spanked for acting up, soap in the mouth for talking back, and grounded for messing up. I am so thankful I grew up in a religious family, where my parents didn't just bring us to church on Sundays and leave it at that, but really allowed us to learn and live our faith.
Kids these days...it's like the parents are still kids. There is no discipline, there are no lines...it's like equalization all over again. Kids are always plugged in, always have to be stimulated, always have to be entertained. Nobody knows how to have a conversation anymore, nobody knows how to just SIT STILL.
The older children who are my age don't know how to work, or how to save a buck, or how to converse with elders, nobody looks anyone in the eye or gives a solid hand shake...
Super sad. My kids are going to be like the freaking Von Trapp children.

THE BANGERS

Ahhhhh I am so excited to put these up. I have been trying to find some really good electro tunes for some time now, then all of a sudden the other night, they all fell onto my lap. Thank you music gods, I owe you once again. Enjoy, my little dreamers.

CSS - Hit Me Like a Rock (Dillon Francis Remix)

Well CSS will forever remind me of Ultra because one of the girls we went with was served wine, from the chick in CSS, while they were performing. Okay, this song becomes amazing at around 1:20. It's quite an unexpected drop, but man, when it does, you will be so thrilled. And it's a simple beat too, but the way he plays with it makes it so dancey!

Cazzette vs Adele - Set Fire to the Rain (A Stupid Hole Bootleg)

Oh Adele, you are so played out, but somehow, I still love every single one of your songs, especially when it has an absolutely killer remix to snuggle with. There is something about classical music (esp. piano, violin and cello) that when it is mashed with deep electro or any type of EDM...it makes me go insane. Who are these people/person who did this remix? I do not know, but I like the sound of them, and I hope to hear more very soon.

Dirty South & Thomas Gold - Alive (feat. Kate Elsworth)

This is super random, and I normally wouldn't put up a song like this, because unlike the Europeans, I am extrememly impatient with drops. But her voice sounds like it came from an ATB song, so pretty, so soft, and then the trancey beat in the background turns into this crazy electro build up and drops like crazy, and from then I can't sit still. Then around 2:30 oh my goodness gracious. Whatup dub. I WANNA GO DANCING SO BADLY. Ugh.

Steve Aoki & Sidney Samson - Wake Up Call (Mustard Pimp Remix)

Okay well clearly this song is unreal in itself, Steve Aoki is off his rocker, completely insane, but holy shit a MUSTARD PIMP REMIX!? YES. It's like the craziness of Aoki's masterpiece wasn't enough for them, and they just had to go and make it that much dirtier. If you haven't already, watch the video to the original song. Pretty dirty, but pretty amazing. Also, the Datsik remix is incredible, if you're looking for more of a dubsteppy type of remix. He also speeds it up a bit, really good, but...Mustard Pimp takes the cake.

Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike & Nervo - The Way We See the World (Tomorrowland Anthem Instrumental)

Longest song name title, artist title known to man. But as soon as I saw this collaboration I downloaded it. Even before I listened to the song. I mean look at that line up! It's like a full festival crammed into one song. Oh this makes me want to go to Ibiza so badly...

Diplo & Datsik feat. Kay - Pick Your Poison

Unbelievable. I try so hard to hate Diplo because he is the most uneducated vulgar being and I just CAN'T DO IT. Not only is he beautiful to look at, but his beats make me go insane! And WHO would've thought that Diplo and Datsik would ever collaborate?? I never saw it coming, but holy moly, LISTEN to this baby they had together! It's unreal. The violin sounding beat that rolls in somewhere around 2:20 makes chills go up and down my body. It's amazing. It adds that classical element into the electro dubstep genre (another mixing of genres) and it just produces such a fabulous song.

My dreams are what save me

Easy August Listening Tunage

Please excuse me for neglecting my blog for so long. I have no excuse except that I get lazy and tired after work, and I wasn't satisfied with the internet worlds choice on blogable music...but I found some that I am in love with sooooo...prepare ye selves.

Ty Segall - You Make the Sun Fry

Just the beginning turned me onto this song. That dirty guitar and distinct voice working together to create that tinny raw sound that is just far too sexy. He's cute too, AND is animal friendly. (Stalked his photos, has pictures with dogs)

DWNTWN - Hungry Hearts (Skeet Skeet remix)

I like Skeet Skeet, he sends me music to blog then doesn't tweet it when I do or give me any recognition...but besides personal feelings, this song is really pretty. I really enjoy decent rap, especially when it overlays a beautiful beat and keeps the pretty female voice. The mixing of genres, gets me every time.

Katy B - Witches Brew

HOORAY! We all know I love anything by Katy B. The video to this song came up on APC, but, due to the fact that I live in America, I wasn't able to watch the video. Whatever. The song will do enough for me. UGH her voice is SO pretty. How is it possible to create such sexy sounding songs? Every single song I blog is just so...perfect.

D&C - Raise it Right

I forget if I've blogged this in the past or not, and if I have then good, because you should listen to it again. It came on my ipod today as I was riding my bike venting my mind off, and I forgot HOW MUCH I loved this song when I got it back in January. The beat is wonderful, and I really love the lyrics too. Very honest, very random, very good.

Sometimes, life is too colorful.
